Citizen Engagement in Urban Planning

The Rotterdam pilot will develop an interactive 3D tool within CitiVerse, allowing citizens to visualize urban projects, provide feedback, and access city services. This ensures transparent and inclusive decision-making for a more citizen-driven city.

Inaya’s story: about inclusive participation

“Inaya sits with her mother at their computer. They walk through a digital version of her mother’s own neighbourhood, the local digital realm, and they virtually ‘walk’ to their neighbourhood hub.
During their walk Inaya and her mother see many familiar faces. Lucas, a neighbour, is catching up on local news. Emma, a young mother, is looking at the new plans for the public square – in 3D. She shares her concerns about the design and with just a few clicks she launches a challenge for further development.
At the neighbourhood hub Inaya and her mother meet with their friends. They discuss the upcoming festival in the nearby park. They all feel included in the digital world, a neighbourhood without barriers.
