Collaboration between 4 CitiVerse projects moves forward

On Monday 31 March, the project coordinators of the four EU-funded CitiVerse projects — x-CITE, SENSE, CU, and 3DxVERSE — came together for their first operational coordination meeting, hosted by Open & Agile Smart Cities (OASC).

While an earlier formal meeting with the European Commission took place in January, this gathering marked the start of more practical collaboration between project leads. The objective: to align strategies, exchange insights, and maximise collective impact.

Despite their diverse focus areas, the four projects share a common ambition:
to co-create a citizen-centred, immersive, and interoperable CitiVerse where people can better understand, engage with, and shape their urban environment.

The coordinators identified multiple areas of synergy, including technical architecture, citizen engagement, standardisation, and joint participation in upcoming events. The group agreed to launch dedicated working groups and continue coordination in the months ahead.

This meeting marks an important step in building a shared CitiVerse approach for Europe — one that is inclusive, future-oriented, and rooted in collaboration.
